CERAMIC
SURFACE
PROTECTION
SYSTEM

MINERAL ARMOR penetrates the surface with microscopic ceramics, creating a hard (MOHS 5.5) glass-like finish that protects the floor against abrasions and staining. Unlike acrylic finishes that cover the surface with a film. MINERAL ARMOR is non-film forming, it attaches to the microscopic pores of the floor building a structure rises above the floor, increasing traction

Unlike acrylic finishes that absorb light, the reflective properties of MINERAL ARMOR increase the overall brightness of an area by reflecting light up from the floor, and throughout the room.

Safer, Cleaner Floors

Mineral Armor's residual pH level of 11.8 is higher than which microorganisms can grow. This means that your floors will be cleaner, stay cleaner and be odor-free.

Restrooms are a particularly difficult floor to maintain, as the soft properties of floor wax are an ideal host for the growth of odor causing microorganisms. MINERAL ARMOR completely eliminates this by creating a barrier protecting the floor and inhibiting organic growth.

The ceramic molecules extend beyond the floor's surface, increasing traction.

Non-Film Forming

Unlike acrylic finishes, which create a solid, impermeable barrier on surfaces, the silicates in MINERAL ARMOR form a network that is inherently porous. This porosity allows moisture to pass through the silicate layers without being trapped or repelled.

When the silicates dry, they form a structure that appears glassy but with micro-channels or pores. These micro-channels permit the movement of water vapor, allowing moisture to escape from beneath the surface or to penetrate, maintaining breathability. The structure of the silicate layer can adapt to environmental conditions, swelling slightly when exposed to moisture and contracting when dry, which aids in moisture transfer without compromising the integrity of the surface treatment.

Other finishes, when applied, create a continuous, hydrophobic film on the surface. This film effectively seals the surface, preventing moisture from passing through, which can lead to issues like moisture trapping, condensation, or promoting conditions for mold growth where moisture cannot escape.

MINERAL ARMOR allows for natural moisture regulation. When MINERAL ARMOR cures on a surface, it forms a very thin, almost invisible layer that does not block the surface's natural or inherent porosity. It reinforces the surface's natural properties rather than altering them dramatically as wax does.

Hydrophilic Floors Stay Cleaner

MINERAL ARMOR is hydrophilic. A hydrophilic floor resists soiling and is easier to clean due to its water-attracting properties. The term "hydrophilic" means "water-loving," which describes a surface that has a strong affinity for water. This characteristic influences how the floor interacts with dirt, grime, and cleaning processes.

Hydrophilic floors stay cleaner longer, because they resist the initial attachment of soiling and are easier to clean. The presence of water molecules on the surface creates a barrier that prevents hydrophobic (water-repelling) dirt particles from sticking as tightly, so they’re less likely to build up over time.

When you clean a hydrophilic floor, water and cleaning solutions penetrate beneath the dirt more efficiently due to the surface's attraction to water. This helps dislodge particles with less effort, reducing the need for harsh scrubbing or strong chemicals. The even spread of water also minimizes streaking or residue left behind after cleaning.
